OPTIMASI BIAYA TRANSPORTASI DISTRIBUSI LOGISTIK AIR GALON MENGGUNAKAN METODE NORTH WEST CORNER BERBASIS QM FOR WINDOWS (Studi Kasus : Depot Air Minum Isi Ulang Dok 8 Bawah)

Clean and affordable drinking water is a primary daily need for the community in Jayapura City, Papua. However, the hilly terrain and dense settlements pose significant logistical challenges for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), such as the Depot Air Minum Isi Ulang (DAMIU) Dok 8 Bawah. This study aims to optimize the daily distribution routes of water gallons to minimize the total operational burden index and achieve an equitable workload distribution among couriers across three main routes: Jalan Serui, Jalan Sampan, and Jalan Nimboran. The methodology applied is a quantitative approach using the Balanced Transportation Model, utilizing the North West Corner (NWC) algorithm for the initial feasible solution and the Stepping Stone method for optimal testing. The model was processed and calibrated using POM-QM for Windows version 5 software. The analysis indicates that the initial NWC model yielded an operational burden index of 186. After automated system iterations, this index was successfully minimized to an optimal score of 171. The optimal allocation dictates that Delivery 1 allocates 22 gallons exclusively to Jl. Serui; Delivery 2 allocates 13 gallons to Jl. Sampan and 4 gallons to Jl. Nimboran; while Delivery 3 serves as a balancer, allocating 1 gallon to Jl. Serui and 10 gallons to Jl. Nimboran. This quantitative framework effectively eliminates overlapping routes, enhances delivery time precision, ensures zero-waste capacity utilization, and assists MSME owners in making data-driven strategic decisions in Papua.
