Dharmasraya Regency is one of the areas with extensive oil palm plantations. This study aims to determine the distribution and area of oil palm plantations and analyze their changes in Dharmasraya Regency in 2016, 2020, and 2025. The data used were Sentinel-2 satellite imagery from 2016, 2020, and 2025, classified using the Classification and Regression Tree (CART) method on the Google Earth Engine (GEE) platform. The classification consisted of two classes, namely oil palm and non-oil palm, which were then compared spatially using ArcGIS to identify changes in area and distribution. The results showed that oil palm plantations experienced a decrease in area and changes in distribution during the 2016–2025 period, while non-oil palm areas increased. The 2025 classification accuracy assessment resulted in an Overall Accuracy of 88.57% and a Kappa Accuracy of 77.14%, indicating good classification accuracy. Overall, the changes in oil palm plantations during the study period were dominated by a decrease in oil palm areas into non-oil palm areas. The results of this study are expected to provide information for monitoring and managing oil palm plantations in Dharmasraya Regency.
